PDW Chair Nominee (Vote for One) Rosa Nelly Trevinyo-Rodríguez is CEO of Trevinyo-Rodríguez & Associates, an organization that advises and educates business families, and founder of the TEC de Monterrey Family Business Center. She is the author of the book Family Business: A LatinAmerican Vision (Empresas Familiares: Visión Latinoamericana), which has been adopted as textbook in most Latin American Universities. Additionally she has written several research and newsletter articles and developed educational material related to the challenges businesses families face when running their family business. She is a member of the Academy of Management (AOM), Family Business Network (FBN), IFERA (International Family Enterprise Research Academy), FERC (Family Enterprise Research Conference), and became the first Latino President of the AOM International Theme Committee 2010-2011. Her main research interests include wealth management in family business contexts, as well as business families’ next generation members training.

Representative-at-Large Candidates (Vote for 3) Olusoyi Olatokunbo Richard Ashaye is currently completing his PhD as a Management Studies student at the Brunel, Business School, Brunel University. He holds a BSc (Hons) in EstateManagement, and an MSc in Advanced IT with Multimedia. He is also a member of the: Royal Instititute of Chartered Surveyors; Institute of Revenue, Ratings & Valuation; The British Computer Society; and Chartered Institute of Housing. He currently works as a Housing/Project Management consultant in the public sector. His research areas include e-Government, e-HRM, land administration systems, change management, public sector business processes and real estate.

Kyana Beckles is currently a Masters’ Student at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County’s (UMBC) Industrial Organizational Psychology program. She re-entered school with a desire to develop her understanding of the science of analytics. While an independent consultant, she specialized in non-profit revitalization and small business development. Former clients include the Baltimore City Chamber of Commerce, Digit All Systems, CGT Technologies, and a host of Baltimore City Council, Mayoral, and other candidates for public office. She is an advocate of using applied research in practitioner settings. She attends classes in the evening and performs duties as a research assistant during the day. Kyana maintains one foot in the consultant world, recently partnering with a budding firm, CMCA Consulting. She also recently presented a workshop with the American Society for Quality. Her research interests include organizational culture, leadership empowerment, employee retention and recruitment. Kyana has submitted work to the Academy of Management Review, will be a first-time reviewer this year.

Rod Hagedorn is founder, senior partner and general manager of BPI Consortium LLC (www.bpi-consortium.com) and an adjunct instructor of management at the University of St. Thomas, both located in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota. An ABD Doctor of Management candidate from Colorado Technical UniversityColorado Springs, Rod holds M.B.A. and M.S. degrees from Drake University and Iowa State University, respectively, with his research focusing on performance effectiveness within marketing organizations. A practitioner-scholar, Rod has over two decades of college-level teaching, Fortune 500 management, and consulting experience with small and mid-size organizations. He is currently a member of the Academy of Management, the Institute of Management Consultants, and the American Marketing Association.

Shawn Hicks is Chief Executive Officer and Senior Consultant for Vision Development Group, L.L.C., which provides strengths-focused whole-system architecture approaches to innovation and continuous strategic improvement. During the last twenty-five years, Shawn has operated in marketing, engineering, construction, education, manufacturing, and management. He brings a broad set of experiences to assist clients in achieving the

business results and performance improvement demanded by their organization. Shawn has worked in the non-profit, faith-based, education, NGO, government, and construction industries. He is a gifted and dynamic speaker and has led many workshops and projects to achieve shifts in performance and process improvement. An active member of the Academy of Management’s Management Consulting Division, Shawn implements summits and teaches workshops on S.O.A.R, and leads business development and management courses. Shawn also provides executive coaching, class room instruction on non-profit and for profit business growth & development, as well as his teaching theology classes combining theory, critical thinking, and practical experience to prepare emerging pastors and ministry leaders.

Rick Johnson specializes in professional management and sustainability, and is currently working on original research for his Doctor of Management degree. He has established a high level professional expertise in the multi-faceted evolution of management science and sustainable affairs on a global scale. As an inducted presidential member of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS), Rick has also evolved his leadership skills to a recognized national level through the Sigma Alpha Pi chapter of Lawrence Technological University and is a full member of the NSLS. He is committed to leadership growth, service, and activity. Other practical and professional experience includes: architectural design and construction of Healthcare, Retail, Industrial, Automotive, Residential, Commercial, Institutional, Recreational and Religious facilities. Specific areas of practice include Architecture and Engineering, Design, Program and Project Management, Construction Management, Business Management, Construction Documents Development, Coordination, and Management and Architectural Consulting along with Project and Contract Administration. As a LEED Accredited Professional with a registered specialty in "Building Design and Construction" with the U.S. Green Building Council, Rick's goal is to provide well designed projects that meet the growing success of environmental and energy sustainability as related to building design, construction, operations, and maintenance applicable to the built environment.

Ann Kobs-Abbott, PhD is President of Ann Kobs & Associates, Inc. of Wheaton, Illinois, providing compliance consultation for all healthcare entities. Her experience includes nearly ten years at the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, where she opened the Sentinel Event Unit and was the Associate Director of the Department of Standards Interpretation. She was a Senior Vice-President for Compliance and Standards for TUV Healthcare Specialists of Cincinnati, OH, where she became certified as an ISO 9001:2000 surveyor. She served as Senior Director of Project Development for the Association for periOperative Registered Nurses, Denver, Colorado focusing on patient safety programming. She has published extensively on standards, patient safety and infection control, as well as speaking and consulting on accreditation and compliance nationally and internationally. She has been active in the Academy of Management since 2009 attending many meetings. Last year she served as a mentor for a student from Denmark – which included 29 of the student’s colleagues. She has completed two years as a reviewer of papers for presentation at the annual meeting and has again agreed to be a mentor. She is trained in Collaborative Law and has recently published on the topic. For over 20 years she has served as an expert witness for both plaintiff and defense. She has also testified for the United States Justice Department regarding labor law. She holds a PhD in Philosophy of Organization Development from Benedictine University. Her dissertation work focused on American businesses use of measurement of intellectual capital and its use in strategic planning as a vehicle for sustainability and survivability.

Steven Maranville has, since 1986, been Principal of Maranville Enterprises—Business Consultation, Executive Education, and Corporate Governance. He advises entrepreneurs and executives on issues of Strategic Management and Organizational Transformation. In 1994, Dr. Maranville was granted a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Utah having previously earned a B.A. and M.B.A. from Brigham Young University. His research agenda is concerned with how ventures gain competitive advantage through implementing principles of organizational learning. At the University of Houston-Downtown, Dr. Maranville was the recipient of its highest recognition--the Teaching Excellence Award. Among other appointments Dr. Maranville has been a Visiting Professor on the faculties of Rice University and Westminster College teaching graduate courses in Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship. Dr. Maranville has been a member of the Academy of Management since 1988. In addition to the

Management Consulting Division, He has been affiliated with the Management History, Management Education and Development, as well as Business Policy and Strategy Divisions.

Frida Pemer is Assistant Professor at the Department of Management and Organization at the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE). Her research centers on how management consulting services are perceived, used and purchased by clients in the private and public sectors. The findings from her research have been published in journals like Human Relations, Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Purchasing and Supply Management, and International Studies of Management and Organization. Frida Pemer teaches courses in management consulting, management and organization theory, and supply chain management at the SSE. She also has practical experience from working as business manager in an international consulting company. Frida Pemer has been a member of the MC Division for several years and published papers in the Academy of Management Proceedings. In 2012 she and Tale Skjolsvik won the Thomson South-Western Outstanding Research-Based Paper award for their paper on client and consultant logics.

Andreas Raharso is the Director of the Hay Group Global R&D Centre for Strategy Execution. Based in Singapore, he oversees Hay Group’s research efforts across 52 countries across the globe, and has conducted extensive research into the strategic issues of human capital, leadership and organizational excellence. Dr. Raharso work with various global multi-national clients, large family businesses as well as governmentlinked organizations over the past 19 years

Michael Smith is a member of the Management Consulting and Organizational Development & Change divisions. As member of AOM, he has evaluated eighteen paper submissions over the last three years in his respective divisions for the international conference. In addition, he has participated in two dissertation PDW. He is a Senior Managing Consultant within IBM’s Global Center of Competency (CoC) on information governance. He has been an

adjunct professor at Lindenwood University and University of Phoenix. Michael has completed all coursework and submitted his dissertation for his Doctorate of Management in Information Systems and Technology program. His dissertation “A Qualitative Phenomenological Study of Critical Success Factors in Implementing Information Governance” covers the governance of “big data” within Fortune 500 companies. Michael is an active member, speaker, and published author of both ARMA and AIIM-the global community of information professionals. He is looking forward to becoming highly active in growing and developing the Management Consulting Division.

David Szabla is a visiting professor in the Executive Leadership Doctoral Program at The George Washington University, where he teaches courses in leadership, change, and research design. His research focuses on the dynamics among substance, process, context, and reaction to organizational change with several papers and studies underway. David has published articles in Research in Organizational Change and Development, Human Resource Development Quarterly and The International Journal of Knowledge, Culture, and Change Management. He completed a book chapter that explores systems and leadership theory titled, “Systems and Leadership: Co-evolution or Mutual Evolution Towards Complexity?” in Complex Systems Leadership Theory edited by James Hazy, Jeffrey Goldstein, and Benyamin Lichtenstein. In addition to teaching and research, David works as an organizational effectiveness consultant with expertise in organization design, leadership development, and change management. He is a member of the Academy of Management, the International Leadership Association, and the Organizational Development Network. He has been actively involved in the MC Division’s “Management Consulting ‘In the Rough’” PDW.

Gary Wagenheim is adjunct management professor at the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University and Aalto University Executive Education, and former professor of organizational leadership at the School of Technology at Purdue University. His research, teaching, and consulting interests are reflective practice, individual and organizational change, leadership, and organizational behavior. He owns and operates Wagenheim Advisory Group that provides corporate training, coaching, and organizational development

programs. Gary received a Ph.D. and an M.A. in Human and Organizational Systems from Fielding Graduate University, an M.B.A. in Organizational Behavior/ Organizational Change and Development from Syracuse University, and a B.S. in Business and Management from the University of Maryland. In addition, he is qualified by the Association of Psychological Type to administer psychometric assessments, and certified as a professional facilitator by the Institute of Cultural Affairs and the Kettering Foundation. For the past several years, he has been an active participant in the MC and ODC Division “That is Great!” PDW focused on teaching organizational change through experiential exercises.

Henry E. Williams, Ph.D., is a visiting assistant professor of Organizational Leadership at Purdue University North Central. Henry has over 20 years of experience in operations management in the public sector. During his career, he served on labor contract negotiation teams, and handled hundreds of EEO claims, as well as grievance and unemployment hearings. He have also worked with a variety of public and private agencies as a consultant delivering an array of human resources services including labor relations, conflict resolution, performance efficiency and effectiveness, executive coaching, and executive salary negotiations. His research and publications focus on the improvement of public sector management and leadership through executive coaching and mentoring.
