The ingredients in this homemade sugar scrub are very easy to find. We used regular, white granulated sugar. Did you know sugar is a great exfoliant because it rubs away dried skin cells and leaves your skin feeling refreshed? Sugar is also more gentle on your skin that sand scrubs or certain types of salt scrubs.

We only used one drop of pink food coloring and one drop of blue food coloring in this scrub recipe. It just takes a little bit to get that unicorn-pretty pastel. For the brightest color, pick the "neon" variety of food coloring. You can make this Unicorn Sugar Scrub in any color you'd like.

Us? We were totally inspired by the Unicorn Magic Snack Packs and went with classic sky blue and puffy pink.

To give our scrub a light, natural fragrance, we added a few drops of essential oils. This is completely optional, but certainly makes it more aromatic and enjoyable when you smooth it on your skin. We used lemongrass oil in the pink and sweet orange oil in the blue.

Other essential oils that have skin benefits are lavender, frankincense, and chamomile. Use your own judgment based on any skin allergies you may have.
